Turn down the volume on symptoms of chronic illness & pain.
Rediscover your resilience & redefine you!
Chronic illness & pain can leave you drowning in debilitating symptoms & feeling invisible.
The embarrassment & pain of debilitating health issues along with the condescending remarks from those that don’t understand may leave you feeling isolated & hopeless. Depending on the nature of your symptoms, there are things nobody talks about. Like the mental map you make to locate every bathroom within 2 minutes of your current location. Maybe you enter a room and evaluate every chair before deciding where to sit because you know the pain of trying to get out of those ‘comfy’ seats. You might have even installed dimmers on all of your lights so when light sensitivity hits you can control the blinding lights.
The hard part is it impacts your sense of community & connection because you can never commit to an outing when symptoms can be so unpredictable. You’ve resigned to RSVP to everything as tentative & driving alone in case you need a quick exit. Let’s not forget the guilt you feel because the disappointment your loved ones experience when unmanageable symptoms keep you in bed. Perhaps you have had to navigate work with a supervisor who doesn’t understand why you need to work from home “again”.
By the time you have read this far my goal is that you are thinking:
She really sees me and understands this.
I don’t know the unique path you walk but I personally have walked my own with chronic health issues and pain.

I believe learning is a life long process and I am always growing in my work as a therapist. I lean into a holistic approach that looks at your overall mental hygiene habits. While cognitive behavioral therapy is a primary approach I use, my style is collaborative and compassionate. Together we will find skills and strategies that work for you.

Those who participate in therapy with me may be experiencing fatigue, lethargy, brain fog, tummy troubles, migraines, debilitating pain or a variety of other symptoms that weigh them down. Together we can work on skills to manage thoughts, behaviors and emotions that hold you back. Our work together supplements but does not replace care you are receiving from your primary provider.
